As someone who is learning, very slowly I’ll admit, how to use the internet for more than just emails, looking up addresses or shopping, I thought I’d pass on a little of what I’m learning. I know that younger people scoff at older people who seem to take forever to “get the message” of what the internet is all about; but, hey, we didn’t grow up with the internet at our fingertips. However, the internet is growing by the minute, so I can either join or be left behind.

Well, I’ve decided to join in and I’m learning that more and more people include the internet in their daily lives and businesses can be run either in full or partially through the internet. In fact, in different forms, I bet most businesses have some internet connection even if it is only via email, which sends mail by way of the internet.

There are lots of things to learn about managing a business on the internet. Where do you go to start? You can start with an eBook. This is a book that can be downloaded onto your computer, itself, or copied to a CD for storage. It takes the place of a paper book saving you the need to have lots of room for many books and also saves the environment at the same time because you only need to print exactly what you need in paper format.

For instance, you can learn how to set up your own webpage. A Webpage is like home base. It can be just a page that is used to sell one item or it can be connected to other pages whereby you can sell many items from a website. Next, you need to learn how to market your webpage. There are lots of ways available like blogging, writing articles, banner advertising, Search Engine Optimization sites (SEO), pay-per-click, website promotion, newsletters, email advertising etc. It really depends on you and how much time and energy you have to promote your product. “Internet Best Marketing Articles” provides a description of the many marketing tools available It’s a way to start the learning experience. Or, try “Web Design Made Easy”, which gives ideas on how to block your pages and add a theme. Different ebooks can help with all the different interests you may have on the internet. Isn’t that great?

Been to the gas station recently and have to go again tomorrow! Each time I get there, the price of gas has skyrocketed anywhere from 5 to 10 cents more than the last time I visited less than a week ago!

There seems to be lots of talk about how the gas giants are to blame. Personally, I think it is a combination of things including OPEC raising the price of crude oil because they can, knowledge of raw oil supplies dwindling and running out in the not too distant future, our high demand and the increase of demand throughout the growing economies of other countries all in addition to our country’s oil businesses making huge profits.

The point is still that we are stuck with rising oil prices and need to find ways to help ourselves get more efficiency from our fuel consumption.

You can try to shop around in your local area for the best gas prices, but if you go too far, you’ll spend too much gas trying to find a deal on it. I just used the internet to look up the latest gas prices in my area so tomorrow I can find the nearest gas station with the cheapest gas prices without traveling out of my territory. There are several places where you look. One place I found, GasBuddy, came from an ebook called “59 Secret Tips to Save Money on Gas”. There were other good tips in there too. It’s worth a look/see. If you can’t use all of the tips, save the book for the next vehicle you own. Perhaps some other tips will be helpful later on.
